TSPMail Design Features
User-friendly Management Interface
TSPMail provides an easy-to-use yet comprehensive client interface for keyring management on the desktop.
Transparent
TSPMail is completely transparent to the network firewalling environment as the security services are provided within the context of Internet SMTP/POP3 e-mail communication protocols.
Furthermore, the layered security service middleware architecture adopted for this product ensures complete transparency to the SMTP/POP3 mail client being used on the desktop.
The user can interchangeably use a variety of mail clients such as Pegasus Mail, Eudora, Microsoft Outlook Express, Netscape Mail or any other SMTP/POP3-compliant mail client with TSP layered security services.
Context-driven Operation
The invocation of security services for securing an outgoing message simply requires the sender of the message to stipulate the relevant keyword "-ENCRYPT-" anywhere within the subject of the message. The specification of this context is easy for the user to learn and can be used uniformly across all e-mail clients, as it does not impact on any standards.
For incoming secure messages, the invocation of security services occurs automatically based on the secure message format standard context being parsed in the message. This operation does not require any user intervention once activated.
The activation/deactivation utility provided with TSPMail can be used to toggle these security services between their activated and deactivated states.
Domain-based access restriction
TSPMail provides access restriction at the desktop through the revolutionary iSolv Technologies domain access licensing technology. This technology provides the administrator of the secure messaging environment with the necessary tools to perform centralized user management for the organization.
The technology is also integrated into the TSPMail layered security provider to perform the automated validation of usage per security service request for each incoming and each outgoing secure message.
Domain access restriction can be specified per secure e-mail user based on domains/users accessible by that user and the time period within which such communication may occur.
This solution is ideally suited for providers of hosted secure messaging services. A service provider can simply tie the billing process for this service in with the license generation process.
Import/export utility
The built-in import/export utility caters for out-of-band key exchange, certificate request, certificate installation and license installation per secure e-mail address for maximum versatility on the desktop.
RSA public keys, RSA password-protected (PKCS#1 standard) private keys, iSolv Technologies domain-access licenses, X.509v3 certificates and X.509 certificate requests are supported through this interface.
Comprehensive logging
Automated logs of all security operations performed by the TSP security layer are provided in comma-seperated variable (CSV) format for easy import and manipulation with most spreadsheet applications.
