Layered Security Services
TSP layered security services, on which the
TSPMail product is based, are built with flexibility and versatility
in mind through standards compliance and support for industry-accepted
practices and architectures. Security services in this product encompass
the following:
Cryptographic Message Syntax Services
- Automated ASN.1 BER encoding support.
- Automated generation and parsing of message format.
Encryption and Authentication Services
- RSA Public Key Cryptosystem™.
- Triple DES symmetric block cipher in 168-bit key length EDE mode.
- ITU-T X.509 certificates with Internet PKIX version 3 extension support.
- Strong 1024-bit and 2048-bit RSA key sizes.
- Strong 168-bit symmetric block cipher key size.
PKI Services
- Compatible with X.509-based Certificate Authority (CA) products
such as Microsoft Certificate Server.
Certificate Management Services
- Built-in X.509v3 certificate processing capability for certificate
request generation, automated certificate authentication and validation
checking.
Key Management Services
- Built-in RSA public key processing capability for key generation,
in-band key exchange and key validation. This operation mode is suited
for environments that do not have a CA infrastructure.
Desktop Security Services
- Data stores for management of certificates and private keys provided
on the desktop.
- Secure single sign-on capability provided for securing of private keys
stored on the desktop.
- All memory-resident sensitive
cryptographic materials and residual information generated in the
encryption and decryption processes are explicitly overwritten for added
security on the desktop.
Standards Compliance
Support for the following
industry-accepted Internet and security standards is provided by
TSPMail:
- IETF: RFC822, SMTP, POP3
- ITU-T: X.509, PKIX version 3 extensions for X.509
- NIST: FIPS 3DES-EDE
- RSA: RSA, PKCS#1
Year 2000 Compliance
iSolv Technologies certifies that
TSPMail has been comprehensively tested and validated as being Year 2000
compliant.
iSolv Technologies also certifies compliance for
TSPMail to IETF guidelines for the resolution of Year 2000 issues with
the X.509 standard.
Available Platforms
TSPMail is available for Microsoft
Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT Client and Windows NT Server
platforms.
Note: Use on Windows 95 requires
pre-installation of Winsock2 and use on Windows NT requires
pre-installation of NT Service Pack 4.
